A Note from Casey:
Have you asked your employees to fail lately?
If not maybe you should. If you haven't told your employees it's ok to fail and that you expect them to fail, your business may be suffering. The fear of failure causes people to play it safe and not to risk the "brain share" that you hired. At Google, we were told to fail at least once a month. If we didn't it would be represented poorly on our review. If you want people to take chances, you must make it ok to fail. Do you want your organization to be the norm, average, or do you want it to have a chance to be remarkable?
Look at the following example of failure building the remarkable.  Click Here

Things to do and see around town....
First Friday
If you haven't been to a "First Friday" in downtown Bryan, you're missing out. I was in downtown Bryan at the opening of a friend's new office recently and it was First Friday. After the event, my wife, Karen, & I walked around and listened to the live music being played in the many stores. We viewed great art from a young artist who had taken over an old abandoned loft. We then had dinner at Square One where I spent most of the time watching the people. BCS has never been the hot spot for people watching, but I saw all types of people; trendy, creative, older, younger. There was a vibe in downtown Bryan that night that I've enjoyed in much larger cities. The chipotle beef pasta was very good as well. Maybe it's the new tech boom there or just the creativity of the businesses that are willing to step outside the box in downtown Bryan. Whatever it is, it's great. The energy that night reminded me that no matter what the national media says, locally big things are happening and big doors are opening.  All we have to do is keep our eyes open and take chances.
